Shruti Rajalakshmi Haasan commonly known as Shruti Hassan was born on January 28, 1986 in Chennai, India. Her zodiac sign is Aquarius. She is the result of marriage between Kamal Hasan and Sarika. Shruti has a younger sister named “Akshara Hassan” who is a Ball room Latin dancer. Shruti Hassan studied at the Lady Andal in Chennai, until 10th grade and then she moved to Mumbai to study psychology at St Andrew’s College. However, Shruti Hassan shifted her focus to cinema and music, and eventually traveled to the USA to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California, before returning to Chennai.

Shruti Haasan sang her first song at the age of six in her father’s movie Thevar Magan.Then she sang for a hindi movie, “Chachi 420″, which was directed and acted by her father. After making marks in the Hindi industry, she eventually sang the title theme Rama Rama for Hey Ram in both Tamil and Hindi languages. She began to get recognition as media started praising her efforts in the singing career. Shruti Haasan,  recently sung in Gautham Menon’s Vaaranam Aayiram under the composition of Harris Jayaraj. As of November 2008, Shruti is also halfway working her untitled debut album, which she has composed, written and sung. The album is expected to release in early-2010. Furthermore a song was recorded under her voice in her forthcoming Hindi movie, Luck titled “Aazma Luck”. She was the  lead lady in Luck. Shruti Haasan was confirmed as the music composer for the upcoming Tamil film Unnaipol Oruvan, with lead role played by her father Kamal Haasan who is also co-producer of the movie under Rajkamal International.
